Bio

Steve has written for and performed in various ensembles on the Sunshine Coast B.C. over the past twenty years. These include solo, duos, trios, quartets and concert bands. He has performed with his quartet on the Gulf Islands at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver and a number of times at both the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival and Gibsons Jazz Festivals. He has also produced and performed in concerts with Jennifer Scott, Melody Daichun and Juno nominated musicians Karin Plato and Kate Hammet-Vaughan. He has also performed with National Jazz Award Bassist Jody Proznik and National Jazz Award Guitarist Bill Coon.

Steve has been playing the guitar since he was seven years old. After several years of lessons in Classical guitar he began studying Rock, Blues and Pop under a number of different teachers. For the past twenty years he has been studying Jazz guitar most notably under the ‘2009 National Jazz Award Guitarist’ Bill Coon. Steve is in demand as an educator and has been teaching various styles of guitar to students of all ages and levels on the Sunshine Coast for the past twenty years.

Steve has recorded a sampler Solos/Duos CD and a CD of his original tunes with the Steve Giltrow Quartet.
